Johnny Appleseed Day ~ Hand & Fingerprint Apple Tree

Today is Johnny Appleseed Day! Yesterday, I made a fingerprint and handprint Apple Tree with my little one and taught my hubby about who Johnny Appleseed was (he had no idea!).

To make the Apple Tree, I traced around one of my son's hands and arm, cut it out, and then glued it to a piece of paper. You could also trace and paint it or even paint the hand and arm (up to the elbow) and then press it down. Then I made thumbprint leaves (or fingerprint) and set it aside to dry. Now it's time for the apples! Use either a finger or thumb dipped in red paint. Little man loves counting so we counted the apples as we placed them on the tree.


He colored a Johnny Appleseed Coloring Page and of course, ate an apple for a snack!
