Handprint Sailboat for August - Handprint Calendar

For the month of August, we made a Handprint Sailboat. I actually made my son's orange handprint on a separate piece of paper and then cut it out to place on the finished page. First, I glued down patterned, blue scrapbook paper to symbolize water. The boat is a textured, brown scrapbook paper that I glued down on top of the water with part of it sticking above it. I sized the boat bottom according to my son's handprint. Next, I painted a white pole and white stripes going across the orange handprint. When everything finished drying, I glued the handprint to the pole and added a green heart and flag.

Check out the Recycled Sailboat Craft we also made!
