I decided to make our Christmas Cards this year since my 4 year old is so into making thumbprints lately. This was such a fun Mommy & Me craft! He thought it was so cool that he was making thumbprints while I was decorating them. I wrote a couple different phrases:
Merry Christmas to Thumb-body Special!
Thumb-body Loves You!
Merry Christmas...... and Happy New Year!
Happy Holidays!
Here are all the different Christmas Thumbprints we made:
Fingerprint Candy Canes- these are my favorite! He placed one pointer finger in red paint and one pointer finger in white paint and then alternated prints of each in a candy cane design. I drew the wire for the lights with a black marker and used glitter for the lights. My little guy went back over the red prints with red glitter to make them more interesting.Thumbprint Christmas Tree- even the star and tree trunk are made with thumbprints!
Thumbprint Wreath- Instead of glitter, you could also attach a tiny red bow.
Thumbprint Penguins- my son is obsessed with penguins! The white tummies are made with white fingerprints, just make sure the black is completely dry before doing this part.
Thumbprint Reindeer- we made some with all double print ones in a profile view, some with a single print with the reindeer's face facing forward, and some with a mix of both. Some had 1 reindeer, some had 4, and so on.
Thumbprint Snowman- You could also do some fingerprint ones to make different sized ones next to each other.

These cards are so cute. I was thinking of making my husband a homemade card from out little boy and I think I'll borrow one of your cute little designs to do it! Thanks for sharing this!
