| Paper Plate Handprint Easter Chick by my 15 month old |
We made Paper Plate Handprint Chicks for an Easter craft- a boy version & a super cute girl version. I am loving how adorable they both look!!!
Supplies Needed:
- paper plate - we used dessert plates, but bigger plates would also work!
- yellow paint
- decorative scrapbook paper or plain construction paper
- orange construction paper
- scissors
- paintbrush
- something to trace with
- glue
- googly eyes (optional)
- flower & sequin (optional)
A few photos of my preschooler & toddler painting their crafts.
Lol! We do so many handprint crafts that Baby Girl decided to give it a go on her own. She loves it!
I believe this was her 1st time using a paintbrush.
Of course she couldn't resist fingerpainting too!

- Trace each hand onto chosen paper & cut out.
- I cut the rims off our paper plates.
- Glue on googly eyes.
- Create a beak by cutting an orange triangle and glue into place.
- Cut 2 strips of orange for the legs.
- Fold the legs accordion-style and glue into place.
- Cut or tape the handprint to the back of the plate; these are the wings.
- I glued a pink flower and sequin to Baby Girl's. A bow tie on a boy's would also be fun!
- Hang up as a cute Easter decoration!
- Handprint Baby Chick + Stories (1 of our most popular crafts)
- Handprint & Thumbprint Chicks
- Footprint Chick Card
- Footprint Chick with feathers
