Handprint Sombrero Cinco de Mayo Craft

handprint sombrero I made with my 16 month old
We made handprint sombreros for a Cinco de Mayo craft this past weekend!

The kids decided which hand they wanted painted and then made a handprint in the center of the page a little bit more toward the top. I painted a rim around each of their handprints. As I was looking at one of them, I thought about how cute it would look if the rim was a footprint instead. My little ones love painting their feet even more than their hands so I am a little mad at myself for not thinking about it sooner. Next year we will have to make this craft again with the footprint!!!

I drew a little design on each as well as the outline of a sombrero.

My son & his buddy decorated their sombreros with glitter glue, sequins, & pipe cleaners.

Their finished sombrero crafts turned out so colorful & festive-looking!

I am linking up this post to these crafty parties!
