Scaredy Cats Welcome {Handprint Halloween Craft}

Handprint Black Cat Halloween Craft

I love the handprint black cat crafts my son & his friends made last year and wanted to make one with my daughter this Halloween. I had a precut pumpkin shape made from craft foam that I placed her black handprint on. This would be easy to make by drawing the outline of a pumpkin on either craft foam or construction paper and then cutting it out. Paint on the ears & tail, then set it aside to dry. Instead of using all white for the details, this year I used pink for the nose & ears.

Because I wanted this to be a keepsake for my 1 year old, I wrote her name, year, and age across the bottom. It also was a great way to get her more familiar with recognizing how cats look {she's doggie-obsessed!} Now she says cat and gato every time she sees one, but kitty doesn't seem to interest her at all. She loves to match things or crafts we have made, so if we are at home and she sees a cat in a book {TV, etc.} she excitedly runs up to her craft and tells me to "Look, cat!" So cute.
