I would like to give a special shout out to my grandpa (may he rest in peace) & my father-in-law who have both had open heart surgery, to my friend Leslie who is living with a Holy Heart, & to sweet little Ellie Jo- Jamie created all of this in her honor. Through research & funding: improvements are made, safer options are made possible, and more helpful/beneficial information is found out. Thank you!

Footprint Penguin Canvas Keepsake

I am in love with how this Footprint Penguin Canvas Keepsake turned out! My son has a black, white, & red penguin-themed bedroom and this is proudly displayed on the wall in there. The other week, he took the footprint penguin plate keepsake I made when he was 2 yrs old off of the shelf it was on and broke it by accident. It was one of my favorite crafts ever that I made with him & I would be lying if I said I wasn't sad when it broke. Now I have a super cute replacement!

1. We used a canvas for ours (purchased from Michael's with a 40-50% off coupon), but you could just use regular paper. My 4 yr old painted the canvas blue.
2. I gave him a paper towel & he blotted the painted canvas. This was to give it a fun texture & get rid of the brush strokes.

3. I made black footprints with his feet and his 12 month old sister.

4. Using foam stickers that I already had on hand, I laid out the phrase "Let it snow" for him to stick on along with sparkly snowflake stickers.

5. Using our homemade snowflake stamp from the other day, he stamped on white snowflakes.

6. I painted white tummies on each penguin.

7. Glue on googly eyes or paint on eyes.

8. Paint on scarves, hats, beaks, earmuffs, etc.

Footprint Heart with Poem Keepsake

I helped my friend make this Footprint Heart with Poem Keepsake with her son as a Christmas gift for Grandma last year, but it also goes perfectly with Valentine's Day. Here's how to make it:
  1. Paint feet and press on to paper in a "V" Shape.
  2. Draw the outline of a heart around it and cut it out.
  3. Glue on to a bigger piece of paper.
  4. Outline with glitter.
  5. Write the following saying: "From the bottom of my heart to the tips of my toes, I love you!"

Giant Handprint Birthday Card from classmates

My son's bestie had a birthday not too long ago, & the classmates made him this Giant Handprint Birthday Card. Each kids placed their handprint on the card & the teacher wrote their name by it. Such a fun idea!

Handprint Snowflake Art

We have been busy working on winter-themed art projects lately and one of my favorites so far is this Handprint Snowflake Craft. Here's how you make it:

1. Find a large enough piece of paper. I used 12 x 12 card stock for ours.

2. Paint hand with a good amount of white paint. We also added Crayola Mixing Mediums to our white paint. It comes in a set of 3: Glitter It! Pearl It! and Texture It! I added the pearl one to give it a fun shimmering effect. The glitter one would also be fun for this craft- it's silver, but I chose to add our white glitter in instead. I have used these on many crafts in the past and definitely recommend them!

 3. Rub Hands together until both hands are completely covered in paint.

4. Make 1 handprint in the center with the fingers almost to the top of the page.
5.Turn page upside-down and repeat with the other hand making sure to have the palms touching each other or even over-lapping a little..
6.Repeat steps 1-2.
7.This time turn the page and make a handprint so that the palm touches the other 2 palms and then repeat on the other side with the other hand.
8.Add snowflake or other winter-themed stickers. I purchased ours from Michael's.
9.Write the year. I used Glitter Glue .

The finished handprint snowflake craft.
